How Is Your Vision

As 2020 starts let me ask, "How is your vision?" I am not referring to how you see or whether you need glasses or not. I'm talking about your vision. Your dreams and goals for the new year. More specifically I'm referencing what God is calling you to believe Him for. Do you have His vision?

Have you even asked? Many people make New Year's resolutions, but few sit before God and ask Him what vision He wants pursued and believed. In many cases, people will end up repeating the past and not progress in their walk with the Lord nor in advancing the kingdom of God.

Let me ask you a few questions.

  1. What Bible reading plan will you adopt this year? What tangible goal do you have for reading?
  2. How many people will you lead to Christ this year? How many will you believe the Lord to save using you?
  3. How many verses will you memorize this year?
  4. How many Christian books will you read this year to grow in your faith?
  5. What ministry will you embrace and serve God?
Each of those is tangible. They are measurable. They are also achievable with God's help. If a person caught God's vision for those things, they would surely grow into more maturity in the coming year.

That is just the start. On top of catching a vision for your personal life, God has things He wants done through His church. He has kingdom assignments to distribute. Kingdom advancement to promote. Kingdom priorities to seek and spread.

So let me ask again, "How is your vision?" While the year is still young, why not stop and sit before the Lord and seek Him for His vision. Be more intentional with your time and energy this year. Live a more focused life. Dream God's dream with Him. Work to achieve those dreams. Pray and believe Him for them. To God be the glory for what follows.
