Help The Hurting

Every day they stumble through private pain,
Living under a cloud filled with pouring rain,
Sin suffocates and strangles all fragile hope away,
Pessimism weighs heavy with the dawning of day,
Heaven laden people oppressed by weighty loads,
Choosing wrongly at intersections of crossroads,
The wisdom of the world doesn't produce any peace,
Striving to the top doesn't make anxieties to cease,
Is there hope for all people wounded weary hurting,
Is there any hope in Bible pages many keep skirting,
O Jesus, You are the friend to hurting bleeding souls,
You're the rescuer to those fallen into sinful sink holes,
You're the deliverer to those bound by shackled chains,
You are the tender hand to wipe away all tearful stains,
You are the friend of even the most wounded of hearts,
You renew and make whole again with brand new starts,
You heal psychological, physical and emotional wounds,
You bring the dead  to life like Lazarus out of the tomb,
Jesus, You are what the broken and hurting really need,
More than meth, crack, heroine or popping some speed,
You are tranquility in the most tumultuous of life storms,
Grace, mercy, lovingkindness and faithfulness are norms,
Please help the hurting today navigate life and the pain,
Please take away the heavy burdens and ease their strain,
In You may they find a wonderful Savior a mighty King,
Who takes away the hurt along with the painful stings.
