Surprise Visit

Do you like it when surprise visitors show up at your home unexpected. Many are embarrassed because the house is not as tidy as they would like for visitors coming over. Dishes may be in the sink. Beds may not be made. If they had known the visitors were coming, they would have prepared. They would have gotten things in order. The surprise caught them unaware.

There is another surprise visitor coming I'm thinking about. It is no other than the Lord Jesus Christ when He returns. Billions of people will be caught unaware. Prophets and preachers have warned people for millennials that Jesus will return and people should get their spiritual life in order. Some mock such preaching. II Pet 3:3 predicted this would happen. In fact, II Pet 3:4-10 informs that God counts time differently than we do. He is patient wanting more people to turn to Jesus for salvation. Heed this warning. Jesus will return like a thief in the night when people least expect it.

Millions of Christians will suddenly disappear in an event called the rapture. It literally means that people will be snatched out of this planet. Billions will be left behind trying to figure out what happened. That is bad enough, but what will happen in the next seven years of tribulation will be tragic. Masses will die in ascending judgments of God. God will hurl one horrific event after another on people who defied Him and His laws. It will be unlike anything this earth has ever seen or will ever see. The full furry of God will be released on those who are left behind.

It is my opinion that we are speeding toward that day of Jesus' surprise visit at breakneck speed. For those who know Him as Savior, it will be a welcome day. A happy reunion. A day of triumph. For those who do not believe in Jesus, it will be a tragic day followed by cataclysmic events that will increase suffering multiplied times more than our worst imaginations.

I want everyone who reads this to be ready for Jesus' surprise visit. If you are one of those who needs to get things right with the Lord, let me challenge you to contact a local pastor, Christian family member, friend, or read the following verses to know what to do. Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9. It is as simple as ABC. Admit that you have sinned and need forgiveness. Believe Jesus died on a cross to take the punishment for people and rose again from the grave. Confess with your mouth your need of salvation and make Jesus Lord of your life. He will do the rest.
